Another remarkable season of Omaha Fashion Week is in the books! It was definitely an eventful night at the VIP Finale. Top designers from the current season competed to win the Omaha Fashion Cup! Vanessa Barrett, Judy Davis, Autumn Foland, Robyn Kortan, and Meghann Schense created this season’s panel and evaluated the designers’ collections. Those designers that went head to head include Kaitlyn Fitzgerald, Judy Bales, Juantiesha Christian, Terri Buckner, Christopher Di Giorgio, Denise Ervin, Jennifer Pool, Dan Richters, Triple Thread, Ellene McClay, Fella Vaughn, and Leah Kettleson.

After showing their collections one final time at the Finale, our panel had the tough task of selecting one designer to take home a $1000 check from Sac Federal Credit Union along with a product development consulting package from Design Parliament, a campaign model from Develop Model Management, the opportunity to work with Gordmans on retail distribution strategies, and an advertising package from Omaha Fashion Week. This prize package is valued at $15,000.

Dan concentrated on this collection for five months. The collection was inspired by the ocean and ocean animals. Dan mentions his fascination “with the textures and shapes of benthic plant life, as well as scales and spikes that cover animals such as fish and starfish.” Dan’s superb craftsmanship combined with his creative intuition led him to claiming the title of Omaha Fashion Week August 2015 top overall designer!
